Kerry and Seth Mattson

We started Mattson Photography shortly after our own wedding. I had been taking peoples portraits since college and really loved doing it. Seth wanted to turn my photography into my full time job. He bought me my first digital camera, designed a website for me and things just took off from there. Here we are 5 years later and I’m lucky enough to say that my favorite hobby is also my full time job. I travel all over New England photographing people on some of the happiest days of their lives. While I’m the woman behind the camera, Seth is the man behind the computer. He takes care of all the editing, website and blog updates. His total attention to detail makes print and album ordering a breeze for our clients.

My sister Juliann joined the team in 2009. She has a great eye and jumped right in without hesitation. We always have a ton of fun working together (as sisters do). Our clients say that our photography styles compliment each other very well.

Seth & I met in the junior high school band room. He played the trumpet, I played the drums. We went to the senior prom together but didn’t really start dating until the end of college. Seth popped the question in a song at the top of Mount Washington …I answered “Of course!” When we’re not working you’ll find us boogie boarding or body surfing with our dog Bella on the beaches of NH and ME. We love drinking coffee, lots of coffee, and hanging out in downtown Portsmouth, NH.
