Frequently Asked Questions
Will we meet our photographer prior to our wedding day?
Yes, we generally meet the Bride & Groom before they book us. Some couples from out of state will book us over the phone if a meeting cannot occur before their wedding date. Meetings usually take place on a weekday/weeknight during the busy wedding season from May thru October. Some meetings may take place on weekends when possible.
What size will the images on the DVD be?
Every photograph includes a RAW and High Quality JPEG format. This allows images to be blown up to a poster size if needed while maintaining optimal quality.
May we increase the size or number of pages in our wedding album?
Yes, we welcome customization to any album. The price differences are all listed on our album page.
How many weddings do you photograph each weekend?
During the busy season of May thru October we will usually photograph one or two weddings per weekend. Each photographer will only photograph ONE wedding per day.
Do you charge extra for editing?
No, all editing is included in your package price. There are no hidden fees.
May we decide to order an album after our wedding?
Yes, many couples will wait to order an album until they've seen all of their wedding photos. That way they have a better idea of how many photographs they just "have to have" in their albums. Other couples will order the base size album and then choose to increase the number of pages to fit more photographs in later on. The price differences are all listed on our album page.
How much does it cost for album design?
The cost of editing and album design is already included in the prices of the albums. Again, we have no hidden fees every price detail is broken down for you on the album page.
How far will you travel for a wedding job?
Most of our wedding jobs are in the New England area. However, we also do
"Destination Weddings", that may take place anywhere in the world. If you are planning to get married somewhere far from home and would like to take one of our photographers with you, please ask for details by emailing info@mattsonphoto.com.
Do you photograph with digital equipment or film?
We use all Pro Digital SLR cameras.
Should we provide our photographer with a meal at our reception?
Yes, please. Generally we are sat at the "vendor table" at the reception.
What do you do if it rains?
We bring along extremely large white and black umbrellas. We also find spots to photograph that give the illusion of you being outside like on decks and in doorways.
How may our family, friends and wedding guest’s view and purchase photos from our wedding?
Each wedding we photograph will be posted on www.weddingprints.com where you and all of your wedding guests may view all of your wedding photographs. They can order prints on line directly thru Mattson Photography or they can ask you to make a print for them as you will receive a DVD with all of your photographs and full printing rights.
How long does it usually take to get our photographs after our wedding?
It can take anywhere from two weeks and up to two months depending on the time of year. The summer and fall are our busiest time of year. The album design process begins after your photographs have been viewed online at www.weddingprints.com
How do we book a photographer with Mattson Photography?
When one of our clients decided to book us for their wedding date we email them a contract with all of their package information listed as well as the dates and times agreed upon. The Bride and Groom review the contract, print it, fill out any additional information and mail it in along with a 25% deposit. Once both the contract and deposit have been received you are officially booked.
Our church/ceremony official does not allow flash photography during the ceremony, how do you work around that?
We usually try to avoid flash photography during the ceremony. We use zoom lenses that are very capable in low light situations. The zoom also allows us to get detailed shots of the bride and groom from across the church.
